Edmontosaurus was a large, herbivorous duck-billed (hadrosaurid) dinosaur that roamed in packs across a wide range of North America.

Though fossil remains have been found in a number of locations, the original discovery was made in Alberta, Canada and the given name reflects the capital city of this province (Edmonton).
