The Megalodon Shark is an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 23 to 3.6 million years ago It diverged from the great white shark during the Early Cretaceous and is famously known for being the largest shark to date. This juvenille tooth was from a Megalodon 40-60 feet long however estimates suggest they grew up to a maximum of 79 to 82 ft. Juveniles inhabited warm coastal waters, feeding on fish and small whales.
